How much does an app cost in the UAE?
Short answer: most first versions we build cost AED 5,000 to 20,000. The price depends on what the app needs to do, not on how big the idea sounds. Here is what moves the number, and how to keep it down.

These are our starting prices for a first version. The final price depends on the details we agree. Monthly running costs and VAT, where it applies, are separate.
What makes an app cost more
- Payments. Taking cards through a provider such as Stripe adds work and an approval step with the provider.
- Connecting to other tools. WhatsApp, a CRM or an existing booking system each need checking and testing.
- AI features. Answering questions or writing content with AI needs careful limits and testing so it stays useful and affordable.
- Sensitive information. Health or financial records need extra privacy and security work.
- A phone app instead of a website. App store apps are a separate build with their own approval process.
- Undecided parts. The more that is unclear, the more time goes into working it out together.
Website or phone app?
A website can work well on phones, and people open it with a link: no download needed. It is usually the fastest and cheapest way to test an idea. Choose a downloadable app when people will use it every day, need it offline, or expect to find you in the app store. Many successful products start as a website and add an app once people are using it.
Costs after launch
- Hosting, the service that keeps your app online, charged monthly.
- App store fees if you have a phone app: Apple charges USD 99 a year, Google Play a one-time USD 25.
- AI and paid tools, usually charged by how much you use them.
- Payment fees, a small percentage per transaction, set by your payment provider.
- Maintenance, for updates, fixes and small improvements.
How to spend less
- Start with one main journey. Build the one thing customers most need, then add the rest once people use it.
- Start as a website. Add a phone app once you know people want it.
- See it first. A small clickable demo of one part of your idea costs AED 500, so you can test it before paying for the full build.
Questions to ask any developer
